Directors Biography
Alejandra Tomei and Alberto Couceiro are born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The two have been working together as a team since 1985, and have been experimenting with various techniques. The first results were the fusion of photography and silkscreening on canvas.
In 1989, they founded the Bar Bolivia together with an artists group. It quickly became a meeting place and exhibition and meetingspace for the contemporary art scene in Buenos Aires.
In 1991, they travelled around Europe and exhibited their work in London, Brussels, and Berlin.
In the year 1992, they relocated to Berlin. Alejandra specialized in animation cinematography and compositing for character animation. Alberto studied animation at the Film & Television Academy Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Where they produce together two short films: The Shirt and TV City. The last one was awarded in Cannes Film Festival 2003
Then, in 2003 they founded Animas-Film a film production company based in Berlin. Supported by the DEFA foundation, FFA German Federal Film Board. Medien Board Berlin-Brandenburg, BKM Federal Ministry of Culture, Film Office Bremen and Arte/RBB TV. As well by companies like Kodak, Arri and SchwarzFilm.
